Dave Pratt Live Recognizes Loyal Listeners

Just email Dave personally at themayor@davepratt.net and tell him about yourself.

Give Dave your name, your location, and where you work or go to school. How long you have been listening to Dave? Let him know! Are you a new listener or have you been waking up with “The Mayor” for years.  Do you have a special story or a favorite memory?

What time do you listen? Do you  listen live or on the 24/7 replay? Do you listen on 103.9 FM, the Pratt Phone Apps or right here on www.daveprattlive.com? Or do you use all 3 ways to listen?

Finally, tell us something personal about yourself. We want to know about you!!

We love our loyal listeners and want to recognize you.

If you don’t deserve it………………WHO DOES?

Listener Of The Day

Dave –

I just downloaded your Android App.  I am listening to your replay while at office in Santa Monica right now.  Normally I listen while at my home office, in Gilbert.

I’m constantly amazed how you are so personable with the listeners.  I heard you invite the one listener to dinner with you and family at Cooperstown.  Then you offered great tickets to a concert if someone just takes you scuba diving.  That and the pay-it-forward/hero mentality that you teach listeners, if they are listening.

They say people listen(ed) to Howard because love him or hate him, they want to hear what he says next.

For me, I know that I listen to you, because I feel like you are my next door neighbor and friend.  Which, in AZ is odd, since I know more about you than any of my next door neighbors over the last 12 years.

Thank you Scott.   Your note just sincerely made my day.   I will share it with my crew and my family.

We are blessed to do what we love with listeners that we love.   Appreciate you!!

Dave

Testing 1 - 2....Testing ;) Do you really answer all your emails? ;)

Hi Dave!

Just finished reading your book! Wow! Loved every part of it. Can I be honest? I was one of those chicks from back in the 80's who followed you from your night show (I was in jr high...we would call in at slumber parties and bug the crap out of you)...and then loved you to death every morning on the radio. I moved to Vegas in the 90's and when I came back I just couldn't believe that Dave Pratt was on a country station! My heavy metal heart just couldn't take it.

Well, now I'm 43 and still love my 80's rock....but after reading your book.....I get it now! So sorry for judging!

I love Arizona as much as you seem to. I wasn't born here but moved here when I was 6 months old. Lived in Vegas for 5 years....and came back home as soon as possible. I appreciate all you had to say about wanting to stay here and raise your family. I, too, brought my 2 year old baby girl home (back in 1994) for the same reason. Phoenix was where I wanted to be....it's home.

Thanks for sharing your story. It was great reliving some of the "glory days" but also knowing more about you as a husband, father, and just all around really good guy.

Tell Paula - I admire her even more. To be married to a public figure like you and raise 4 kids - that is flippin amazing!

Best wishes to you and your family......and hey - where can I catch you on radio now???

A fan and follower since 1981 - (with a little heartbreak in between lol!)

Hi Dave,

I just wanted to say it's great having you back on the radio. I have listened to you for years from your days back on the Big Red Radio, to KMLE and now My 103.9. I remember riding the bus to high school in Gilbert when the buses first had stereo's put in them. Our bus driver was an older lady probably in her 50s and she had you on every morning. Normally a bus full of Jr. High and High School kids was loud and noisy but you could hear a pin drop on that bus. Sure it was loud while the music was playing but when you and your fellow radio personalities would talk it always got quiet and we would all crack up when you guys did or said something funny. Now I find myself driving to work in the morning along the US60 to I-10 doing the same thing some 30 years later. I'm a big fan of MC as well from his days doing sports on Channel 12. You have a great team at My 103.9! Keep up the good work.

Thanks from a loyal listener,

Troy

This note from loyal listener Dan Demland just absolutely made my day.

“Dave -  I wanted to let you know that I will be with my oldest daughter having a daddy-daughter night at with the DBacks in the Dave Pratt Live Section.   We will be at your firstTuesday game on April 17th vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates.  We just bought and selected our discounted seats at WWW.DBACKS.COM/DAVEPRATT    We will be sitting in seats 1 and 2 in row 32.   She is soooo stoked!!!  Already talking about it.  We would love to have you sit with us for a few minutes if you could.

This is the best event you have ever had…..  Baseball, my daughter and Dave Pratt!!!!   What a night to look forward too.  She has an autograph picture of you from one of the first appearances you made when you first joined KMLE.  Looking forward to seeing you.  Will you have your daughter there too?”

Dave,

I know you're into documentary's and history. Thought I would run this one by you.  Being Elmo, its about the voice behind Elmo..  It's just over an hour but well worth the time.

Kelley Doern

Thanks Kelley!!   LOVE this stuff.   I will search for it.

Appreciate you.   Thanks for thinking of me!

I have one for you as well.   I just caught it on the History Channel.   “The Last Stand of the 300”     One of the most famous last stands in history.    Thermopylae.   In chronicles the famous Persian invasion of Greece and Sparta.   Really good.

BRENT RAY

Dave,  I have an American flag to give to you that was flown in Iraq.   My Army duties have me in Germany now but I am coming home to Arizona soon for a short visit.    Is it ok to deliver the flag to you in person?  I am touching down in Phoenix on the 6th of April and return to Germany on the 13th.

Thanks for allowing me to express my thanks to you.   It means a lot to me and my family that we can share our love for Arizona through your program….Even in Europe and the Middle East. Your Dave Pratt Live Phone app is great and provides me a long distance connection to AZ.  It is amazing that a guy like me who is traveling around the world can drive as fast as he wants on the German Autobahn listening to your show 5000 miles away.  Today as we were driving down the road, my 16 year old son said "Hey dad turn on Dave Pratt".  So you see, you have a next generation………………….I am sure he is interested in you and not Kassi!!!!

I relate to the things you talk about, the way you study history and promote our great state.  I think it is a great thing you do and I appreciate your sincerity.   I am a native Arizonian and have been listening to you since the beginning.

OF COURSE BRENT!!    COME DOWN TO THE STUDIO AND MEET MY ENTIRE CREW.    AND LET’S DO IT WHEN WE GET OFF THE AIR SO THAT WE HAVE MORE TIME TO VISIT AND HANG OUT.    (By the way vets, what is the protocol of an American Flag.  Can I display it in my office?)

 We appreciate you!

Dave

Hey Dave,

I moved to the valley in 1985 and while traveling down the Black Canyon in my U-haul, I picked up your morning show and was instantly a loyal listener.

I left for the service in 1986 and while deployed to Kuwait, I even took a cassette recording of your show along to remind me of home. I retired from the Air Force and my wife and I returned to the valley a few years ago.  We recently found My103.9 without realizing you were hosting the morning show, it was like a blast from the past and great to hear your voice again!!!!

Dave,
As you know, we are long time listeners, from the overnight show to your current one, we stuck with you through the changes of formats and personnel, which by the way, this is the best group ever, by far.

We listen during our commute to work every morning from 7 to about 8:15 in X103.9, and once I get to work, I switch to DPL.com to catch the rest of the show. Sometimes, I even listen on my back from work on my smart phone through my car stereo, as afternoon radio also sucks wind.

Happy Holidays to you, Kassi, Alexis, Rob and Mark, and to your family as well.

A wave to Dave Pratt - big in the book he wrote, bigger than life itself.  Of all the friends this 70 year old Buzzard has, you’re at the top of the list!  We are survivors and we know GOD!  HE gave me ELEVEN YEARS I didn’t think I’d have.  Ya, I’m walking a lot slower now, and the bionic left knee wore out ‘cause I never quit puttin’ one foot in front of the other, so I’ll be getting another one very soon….no wheelchairs for me.  I’m no quitter!  I do what I gotta do which is why these Buzzard wings just keep a’flappin’and the beak keeps pecking away!  You are loved!  I hope you have a delicious 2012!  Praise the LORD!

Dave, I am so glad you are back on the air. I have been a listener since the KUPD days and then on the country station. Part of my morning routine is to listen to your show as I drive to work. I moved to Denver in October and I am so glad I can still listen in the morning via my IPhone.  It helps me to be less homesick for Arizona. I hope to move back one day but until then I will continue to get my Morning Mayor fix by listening. Take care and keep up the good work.

Hey Dave I’ve been listening to you since the early 80s. I lived in Bagdad, AZ until we moved to Phoenix in the summer of 84’. I went to Greenway Middle School ( I think you were friends with one of the principals there-the veep- who was also a cop part time) and one day I remember you suddenly passing right by me, just bopin’ along onto campus with your red converse shoes and giant red wayfarer sunglasses. You were a legend to us way back then! Man, I think I still have my Red card around somewhere. We’d hassle the bus driver like nobody’s business unless he played your show in the mornings. Anyway, whenever I hear Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen it always reminds me of those days. Good times, damn good times. And we do deserve it. Thanks Mr.Mayor!

P.s How many years will it be until you guys start to mix in 90s music? I loved a lot of that music the station is playing now at the time it came out, but I wouldn’t make a habit out of listening to them now. Hall & Oates, for example. I’m also wondering what age demographic the station is aiming for. Be great to hear Neil Young sometime, followed by a song from the Flaming Lips every now and then - even if it’s in the middle of the night.
